Review: Four Seconds to Lose - K.A Tucker

Have you ever started to read a book and then found that you just couldn't get into it, no matter how much you loved the previous books in the series and no matter how hard you tried to read it ? Then , something has sparked in you and made you months later to go back and pick up that book and you have found yourself the second time around actually loving and enjoying the book.
Four Seconds to Lose is Cain and Charlie's story . For those who have read the previous books you will know that Cain is the owner of the club "Penny's" where Storm who is next door neighbours with Kasey and her sister Livvy was a dancer until she met cop Tanner. In Four Seconds to Lose , we meet Charlie Rourke who is here in Miami to stay low and follow her drug dealing stepfather's rules until she can get enough money to escape from him and disappear for good. What Charlie doesn't count on is the fact that she will meet Ginger who will lead her to Cain's bar "Penny's" where she will get a job. Charlie has always made it a goal to distance herself from others, so that she can keep her lives and lies separate and balanced but what happens when she finds herself starting to like it here and fancy Cain. When the lies start piling up and Charlie finds Cain falling for her hard , can she escape quietly or will she realise that she has for once in her life people that actually care for her and want to help her out of the goodness of their hearts and not for something in return ?
This was a really good book, once you got stuck into it as you watched Charlie weave around the lies she had created to protect herself and her new friends. The only part I wasn't too keen on was the ending which was Charlie's new life where she became Penny. This to me was a bit odd reading it as it was almost like she was being Cain's dead ex-fiance's reincarnation and to me this was a tad creepy and gross to think about.
Other than that , this was another good book in the Ten Tiny Breaths series and I look forward to reading Book #4 and the Novella.
