VBT# Curves in the Road -Amy K. McClung

Review: Curves in the Road - Book #2 : The Southern Devotion Series - Amy K. McClung - August 2014

Love and Romance isn't always straightforward ,though we definitely wish it could be as sometimes love takes us on a journey of never-ending decisions, heartbreaks and yes and no's. For Derrick Collins, Love for him has never been easy as when he was 16 he became a father and because the mother couldn't care for the little girl - he became a solo dad. Now years later when that little girl is four years old , Derrick's brother ends up in a accident and Derrick needs someone to look after Katelyn. Enter Mary Jane - the babysitter and Derrick's Sister-in-Law's best friend. From then on for both of them it is a love at first sight example but of course they both know things won't last forever when MJ is offered her dream job at Disney. They try long distance , but that doesn't work out as MJ is surrounded by temptation in the form of best friend Tristan and Derrick has Katelyn's teacher to keep him company. The pair right through the whole novel go back and forth in trying to make things work and then only to have something happen which will pull them both apart again. One part I loved in this story is when Katelyn who near the end of the novel is now six years old calls MJ her mum. This made me swoon and go oh ahh. Will Derrick and MJ ever get their HEA or is it just wishful thinking for the both of them ? I could personally relate to this book as I have this guy who I'll call "B" whom I have known for nearly ten years in November this year and in my heart I know we are meant to be together but of course life keeps throwing obstacles in our way and things have been bumpy over the last decade but no matter we both end up coming back together even after years apart.
If you love romance novels with swoony parts and are big on Soulmates, Meant-to-be's and second chances ,then check out Curves in the Road by Amy K. McClung.
