VBT# Duplication - Leigh Clary Abdou

Duplication (Duplication Trilogy #1)

Review: Duplication - Book #1 Duplication Trilogy - Leigh Clary Abdou - June 2015

Are you a fan of the Dystopian novels like The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood or The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne ? I found Duplication by Leigh Clary Abdou to be a mixture of both of these books and the above are two of my favourite reads. The novel starts with Katrine and her son David together and Katrine is having a nightmare about her son being taken away from her and that it's her job to keep him safe and sound. We later discover that this will be a turning point in the novel as two years ago her husband Zohan - and nope we aren't talking about the Adam Sandler character in Don't Mess with the Zohan, was killed in a bank heist which also marked what was known as Bloody Sunday. Now all those who are Christians are made to wear a cross on their shirts , like the Scarlet Letter and are segregated from the rest of the world - the christians are on the bottom of the totem pole - but thank goodness not all of the world of Pangea sees it that way. As the book goes along, we read as Katrine's life starts to slowly rise from the ashes from making friends with a Muslim named Maz and we wonder if the pair will be more than friends to her life with her friends and family. What will happen though when Katrine discovers the truth about her husband and what really happened the day he was killed in what she believed was a bank heist ? Has the time come finally for Christians to stand their ground or will a Duplication and repeat of the past come back to haunt those still in the living ?
Find out in this fast-paced adult Dystopian novel by Leigh Clary Abdou - the first in the Duplication Trilogy and a series I look forward to reading more of and finding out what happens next ....
