Review: The Calling - Book #2 Darkness Rising Series - April 2012

One of my favourite paranormal/Supernatural authors is Kelley Armstrong as no matter what her books are about , she does not get boring or disappoint her readers.
After the bushfire that ravaged through their community , it seems that Maya and her friends are really in danger and that due to their special abilities , they are being hunted. As more deaths occur and their chances at surviving and escaping those hunting them become slim, they must join forces in order to survive but what happens when they learn that someone in their group of friends, someone they thought they could trust turns out to be an enemy and betraying them. Will Maya be able to put her survival skills to the test and help save her friends as it is determined she is the strongest of them all ? Also in The Calling, Maya's true family lines are revealed but who will she choose when it comes down to her trust issues - the father she thought abandoned her and didn't want her or the parents - The scientists that worked for the Cloud Corporation. This book was more action packed than Book #1 The Gathering and focused solely on the teens discovering their powers and abilities and who they really are and what they are capable of. I look forward to reading the last book #3 The Rising and seeing how this series concludes.
