Review: Blindsided - Kate Watterson

Review: Blindsided - Kate Watterson - July 2019
Ten years ago, when Cadence
Lawerence was in high school and graduating with her best friend, they were
living the life until her best friend went missing and her body was never
found. Cadence accused her best friend's boyfriend at the time as she knew he
had a temper and her friend was going to dump him that night. Now ten years
later, she is with a friend in a doctor's office when she spots him. There is
no way that she would never recognize him even after all these years. Spooked,
she decides to take an impromptu absence of leave and drive to Wisconsin. On
her way, her car breaks down, and she is picked up by a stranger who takes her
to his cabin in the woods. During her time away, an FBI agent is trying to get
ahold of Cadence as she has questions about the guy she accused of her friends
murder as her daughter was also killed by the same man and now they have a
string of deaths that could be all tied to the same guy and looks like everyone
who has known him is now dead except for Cadence. Now that he has spotted
Cadence, is he here to tie up loose ends as when she returns home it looks like
someone is stalking her. Thank goodness, she now has her mountain man rescuer
whom they have become close and started a romantic entanglement together. I did
like how her friend's murder was solved eventually, but I had hoped that we
would have seen more of this case in the book as it felt entirely overshadowed
by the "new situation." If you are in the mood for an excellent
female mystery/thriller writer in the same feel as Tess Gerritsen, Kendra
Elliot then check out Kate Watterson today.
