Review: Love In Deed - L.B Dunbar

Love in Deed (Green Valley Library #6)

Review: Love In Deed - Book #6 Green Valley Library Series - L.B Dunbar - May 2020
Hopping back into the Smartypants Romance world and the Green Valley Library series with Book #6 Love in Deed, we meet Naomi Winter's older sister Beverley Townsen. Those who read Naomi's book will remember that we saw a snippet of Beverley where she had been starting to fall in love and become herself again after all these years. Love in Deed is Beverley's story. Our book starts with Beverley in AA after an accident that caused her to crash and do harm to herself. The book then jumps to present times where it has been years since the accident and Beverley has turned into a recluse of sorts and has let herself go. Our male lead Jedd Flemming hasn't set foot in Green Valley for at least twenty years, when he was here last he had eyes for Beverley but she had married Howard at that stage. When Jedd arrives at the farm, he can't believe his eyes and that this was the same woman he has always loved as she has aged terribly and a shell of her former self.  Jedd has a proposal for Bev as he wants to farm horses and needs somewhere to live etc. At first, she declines, but after her daughter, Hannah talks her into it, she reluctantly agrees. From then on, we can see flashes of flirting between the two and we read as Bev or Bee as Jedd calls her to start to emerge from her hive like a buzzy bee. What will happen though when the person who caused her all the hurt and heartache, her husband Howard comes back in the picture wanting his property? Will Bev lose everything she has worked hard for and revert into her shell or will she after twenty years finally get the guts along with her sisters Naomi and Scotia by her side - tell him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine? I have to admit I found this one a harder story to read as I liked Jedd but I found Beverley's character and everything surrounding Howard frustrating. It was like come on lady, you had an accident and your husband left you for another woman - Move the freaking on. You aren't the only one who has had tragedy in your life. Overall though if you want some Green Valley fun in your life, then check out Love In Deed as every time I read a Smartypants Romance - my memories transport back into the good times and the characters’ lives I've read in the many books set in this Tennessee small country town.
