Review: The Three Mrs. Greys - Shelly Ellis
Review: The Three Mrs. Greys - Shelly Ellis - March 2021
After reading and enjoying Taryn Fisher's book The Wives, I started to enjoy reading books about husbands that had multiple families as it got me thinking how skilled the guy must be to keep everything in order and making sure that his family never know about one another. More often than not, people like this have jobs where they are constantly "traveling" so a business trip is spending time with their other wives. In the Three Mrs. Greys by Shelly Ellis, we meet our husband Cyrus Grey and his first wife - Vanessa whom he has been married to for 11 years and they have three children. Vanessa has recently been having an affair with her son's sports coach as she has been craving attention her husband no longer gives her. His second wife Noelle he has been married to for four years and is a little unstable but dreams of being a mother however Cyrus keeps changing the subject on her and then we have Diamond - a former drug addict and sex worker whose former pimp and boyfriend is in prison. Diamond has been married to Cyrus for a year. While out with Wife #3, Cyrus is shot and rushed to the hospital - here they call his next of kin which is Vanessa, meanwhile, Tariq who is Cyrus's business partner calls Noelle. The two meets at the hospital and soon discover that Cyrus kept a truckload of secrets and read as they unfold when the pair of them discover that he was shot while with his 3rd wife - Diamond. The Three Mrs. Greys by Shelly Ellis was a fast-paced novel that kept my interest as I loved reading their reactions when they discovered one another. This book does end on a small cliffhanger, so I am looking forward to the direction that Shelly will take in Book #2.
