Charity (Black Mountain Academy)

Review: Charity - #Black Mountain Academy Series - Rochelle Paige - November 2020

This particular one I was in two minds about as I did love the main storyline but then they chucked into another plot that we see happening in a future book and it just to be honest felt out of place and it was like we are going to chuck in this whammy OMG moment but only gloss over it. Charity starts with Corby King our male hero growing up in the foster care system after his mum died and his father in prison. Corby has had one thing that he worked on and made a name out of himself, his amazing ability at hockey. It has captured the attention of one of the wealthiest families in Black Mountain. The family has never had any children and have decided to foster Corby so that he can come and play at Black Mountain Academy and lead them to the championship and win the trophy. It is a dream come true for Corby, now he can play to his heart's desire and never have to worry about anything else. Meanwhile, Emme is a shy bookish girl whose family is all about status but she never has been, what happens when she falls for Corby? Someone whom her mother would never accept and it doesn't help that her dad is a pushover. Can Corby and Emme overcome the obstacles and class ratings in front of them and make it work? Find out in Charity by Rochelle Paige. A gender reversal rags to riches story. This time the guy-Commoner might win the heart of the Princess.
