Review: Battle of the Bullies - Fenyx Blue - October 2020


Something that I love to read about and it's probably because I experienced it myself from students and teachers is books about bullying, so when I saw this one come up for the tour - I knew I had to read it. Battle of the Bullies starts with a secret society at the high school called The Dimes. The goal is to become Number #1 by bullying students so much that they drop out of school. Each of the Dimes besides the girl at the top, each year receives a picture of a student who will become their target. This year is a family of triplets and a fourth sister - Ebony, Eris, Emani, and their oldest sister Alexis. These girls though have already suffered through one tragedy after a school bombing that killed their older sister Alexis’s first love Zachary among others. What the dimes didn't count on was that the Robertson triplets aren't pushovers and in fact, they excel at the things they love and that when the Robertson Family works together as a team - they are unstoppable and when they see their friends and family getting targeted by the Dimes - their mission this year will be to dismantle and expose the Dimes. It's a battle of the bullies - Good vs Evil in this High School read by Fenyx Blue. I enjoyed this book and in parts though, it sounded familiar and made me think whether I had read something by this author before or similar. Battle of the Bullies is the perfect read for 15+ as is edgy in places and does tackle some hard topics that could easily trigger emotions and memories.
