The Forsaken (The Forsaken, #1)
Review: The Forsaken - Lisa M. Stasse - August 2012
As a fan of the current trend of Dystopian that has hit the shelves of teenage/ young adult fiction. I have read some not so great ones , OK ones and then a few that have been awesome and amazing enough to want to keep on reading. The Forsaken would be the female version of the book The Maze Runner by James Dashner , though in saying that like The Maze Runner, guys and girls will both enjoy it as there is their balance of female and males . In a new order set , all children when they reach 16 years are to undergo a test , the test is a study of the brain which determines whether or not the participant shows the brain activity of a serial killer or criminal. The ones who fail the test are sent to an Island - a prison of sorts. On the day of the test main female lead Alenna ShawCross ends up failing the test and sent to the island along with another person called David Appleby. As Alenna starts to discover, the island is not as they have been taught. It is in fact something more sinister happening . With the age expectancy on the island being 18 years , this means that in order to doscover what is happening and staying alive means that Alenna must move quickly. What will happen though when rumours start to ablaze that her parents were sentenced to the island ? Will they still be alive after all these years or will Alenna end up like her parents ? With her skills to survive , can Alenna save those or try to on the island or will it be listed as another of many failed attempts ?
Find out all this and more in the awesome new and exciting Teen Dystopian "The Forsaken" by Lisa M.Stasse.
