Review: Black Diamond - Havana Adams

Review: Black Diamond - Havana Adams - June 2014

This has been one book that I have been waiting for ever since I saw it reviewed a couple of weeks back on Chicklit Club. The blurb sounded fantastic and something that I would love and OMG I did , it was amazing and such a fast-paced and intriguing read. Ever since I was younger , I have loved that whole idea of separated at birth and even better when it's identical twins and they don't know about each other. When Lola and Grace were born, their parents were both killed in a fire that raged through their little village in South Africa. The girls were then taken to an orphanage, Lola was nice and healthy yet Grace was sickly and they weren't sure how long she would live as food and costs were tight.  When the girls were weeks old, Scarlet Wilde -actress was looking for a black baby to adopt and she found one in Lola though oblivious to the knowledge that Lola was a twin.  Years passed and Grace was finally adopted by "The Pastor" - a strict and abusive father and highly religious. The book then skips to 17 years later and Lola is in and out of rehab and living the life and part of "troubled spoilt rich girl" and Grace is the "bookish shy girl off to Oxford University". Four years more pass and this time the girls are going to come face to face - well sort of in Las Vegas while Grace is there for her friend's Wedding dress shopping.  Over the last course of the novel, the girls try to not only find each other but also discover tidbits of their past lives and what could have been .
Black Diamond was a fast read and I look forward to reading more by Havana Adams and if you loved the movies "The Parent Trap" , Twitches and Twitches Too.
