Review: Goddess Born - Kari Edgren
Synopsis: Goddess Born - Kari Edgren - May 2014
One of my favourite things I love to read about is stories about Gods and Goddesses and even more the tales of their ancestors. In Goddess Born, it introduces us to the descendant of the Goddess Brigid. Set in PA , 1730 we meet Selah Kilbride, she is a direct descendant of the Goddess and holds the power to heal. Her father is ill and the only way to keep her family's secret hidden is to marry her cousin Samuel in an arranged marriage and she must do it fast before her father passes away. When Selah discovers her husband to be has died upon the ship, she finds herself in a major dilemma as if she doesn't return with a husband then she will be forced to marry the evil Nathan Crowley - one of the Elder's in the Quakers Church. At the shipping yard, Selah meets Henry and purchases him with the agreement that he will marry her and pose as her husband, the thing though Henry is hiding a dark secret about who he really is. When Nathan doesn't get his own way, what will happen to Selah when he starts to proclaim that she is a witch after all - what other explanation would there be for her performing healings and miracles ? Can she get out of this mess after she discovers who her friends are and that being a descendant makes her stronger ? Will Henry and Selah eventually find themselves loving each other and soon their marriage be turned into a reality ?
Find out in this awesome novel made for fans of Gods and Goddesses and those who love renditions of myths and legends - "Goddess Born" by Kari Edgren.
