Review: After Us - Book #2 Before and After Series - Amber Hart - December 2014

At the start of After Us , we read as Melissa is working at a Beach Bar to pay her way through not only school but also medical bills. When a group of Latino guys come up to the counter, one of them makes her look like she has seen a ghost - his name is Javier. The story then flicks to Before - when we discover that these two knew each other along with Diego and Faith and readers can gather that something drastic happened to Diego as Faith - his girlfriend fled the country and cut off contact with Melissa. The novel then flicks to After the Incident and we read as Melissa and Javier are pushed back into each other's lives , but alot has changed since that incident - Melissa got sick and is now living with the fact , she may die and Javier has only one thing on his mind - Revenge for his cousin Diego's untimely death caused by Wink. This is a novel of two people from different worlds who will be forced due to not only their love but also their history to band together and overcome any obstacles and there will be alot of "big ones" in this book . We definitely see alot of back and fro'ing between Melissa and Javier , but somehow we hope as we read the novel -that they will end together. To finish off, I will say that After Us definitely in about the third to last chapter had a surprise ending and twist , that makes the book worthwhile to read.  As I have not yet read Book #1 , I am now looking forward to checking it out.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
