The Unhoneymooners

Review : The Unhoneymooners - Christina Lauren - May 2019

Olive and her twin sister Ami are identical twins, they look the same but that is where the similarities stop. Ami seems to have all the good luck wheres Olive got the bad luck charm. She is accident-prone and things never seem to go her way. Her sister Ami is about to get married and now Olive is to be the maid of honor in a dress that Ami won and makes her look like a giant skittle. The other bad news is the best man is her arch-nemesis, Ethan. He is the groom's brother and Olive's enemy. The pair have had a hate relationship ever since they first met and to think that Olive thought he was hot and cute. At the wedding reception is a seafood buffet that of course, Ami won, the thing is though that Olive is allergic to seafood and Ethan doesn't eat buffet food so they have their own meals catered for. This results in the whole wedding guests etc getting seafood poisoning except for Olive and Ethan, which brings us to the main theme of the story. Another prize Ami won was a non-refundable trip to Hawaii - all expenses paid and a ten-day trip. With Olive and Ethan having the same surnames as the original party, they take the trip together. It starts off as two enemies having the worst times of their lives but when Olive's new boss and Ethan's ex-girlfriend end up on the same island at the same resort - lies start to bubble out and the pair pretend to be husband and wife. As the charade goes on, the pair discover that they actually like each other and the other isn't that bad. Olive will also discover the nasty truth about her twin sister's new husband and when they get back - Olive is left with the dilemma to tell Ami the truth or not. What will happen when Olive and Ethan get back to reality? Will their relationship continue or will they discover that when they are around family, they go back to their old ways of hating one another?
Find out in this contemporary Enemies to Lovers tale from the wonderful duo that is Christina Lauren.
