Review: The Dance - Alison G. Bailey

Review: The Dance - Alison G. Bailey - May 2016

Often as a reader, going into books blind can make you enjoy the story more as The Dance by Alison G. Bailey surprised me with the twists and turns and the depth it ended up having. This one had been sitting on my kindle for a while and as you know I'm a mood reader and often need a book that I can get into. I wasn't sure what I was feeling so I clicked on this one as it had "Dance" in the title and I do like Dancing books. This, however, wasn't a dancing book but a story of second chances, redemption, and friendship. The book starts at the High school Prom when Bryson is left alone as her boyfriend Will is off getting drunk with his friends and Bryson's peaceful time is interrupted by Bad boy and newcomer Hart. The two spend a romantic dance together and then go their separate ways. Years later, Will and Bryson are married and things start to go a bit haywire with their marriage as cracks start to show from Will doing the cyber nasty and long nights at work, affairs, etc and it has pushed Bryson too far. So she asks for a divorce, that day Will is in a terrible car accident and lands in the hospital where Bryson runs into Hart - the one who got away. Hart is now in a wheelchair as he too had a terrible motorbike accident years ago.  Bryson sees Hart beyond the wheelchair and the pair get closer, that is until it turns out Will is diagnosed with AIDs and dying. Bryson is torn in two as the man she dedicated her life to and thought she loved is dying and on the other hand, she finally has a chance with a guy who loves and encourages her fully and allows her to be herself. What path will Bryson choose? Find out in this edgy New Adult romance read "The Dance" by Alison G. Bailey -- an emotional rollercoaster ride of a book.
