Louise and her brother Mark have never gotten on and Louise found that her mum favored her brother and it was always poor Mark. Louise gets a phone call from her brother to say that their parents have both died in a car accident. Now the pair of them must return home organise things and clear the house. The thing though is that Louise has bad memories of the house and believes it to be haunted.  This is probably due to the fact it is covered with puppets as her mum created them and ran a Christian puppet ministry for the community. Louise is about to discover that her mother has left everything to her brother except the art which goes to Louise. The house though has bad vibes especially a crazy puppet named Pumpkin who was the bane of Louise's childhood existence as it caused her to do bad things and it looks like it's not finished. As we all know Grady Hendrix is the King of Demons and Ghosts etc, we learn that Pumpkin is possessed by the spirit of Freddie and it looks like unless he can be reunited with his actual body, he will continue to create mayhem and chaos including body dismemberment. Can Louise and her brother help cleanse their parent's house of the bad juju and prepare it to be sold, so they can both get on with their lives? Find out in this edgy horror read that holds an 80s campy feel to it and fans of Riley Sager's The House Across the Lake will enjoy.

  Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling. Fast forward to high school Misha is in a band and Ryen is out with her friends and they complete a scavenger hunt form. Ryen is not what Misha expected especially from her letters.
