Review: The Scorch Trials- Book #2 - James Dashner - October 2010
Have you read The Maze Runner ? I strongly recommend that if you haven't read the Maze Runner yet then don't read this book first or the review as parts you won't understand and others might ruin the The Maze Runner storyline for you.  In The Scorch Trials, the remaining 50 from The Maze Runner including Thomas and Teresa have escaped the Maze only to discover that they are part of an experiment. The series focuses mainly on Thomas , as we learn through book #1 Thomas plays a very important part in this series. Now escaping The Maze, the group have been sent to Phase #2 The Scorch Trials, in a twist of events the guys from Book #1 will learn that there is a camp identical to theirs except filled with girls and one boy Aris - who holds the same power as Teresa. Just when they thought it was all over the team discovers that they have been affected with a virus and if they don't make it out of the trials in time the virus will take over their bodies and turn them into Cranks. Read as one by one the team gets smaller and smaller and strange markings appear on them - informing their place in this new world. For Thomas though, it seems that there is more than meets the eye as his name starts popping up everywhere and his tattoo warns him that he is to be killed by Group B ( The girls group). With the help of his Maze Runner friends and newfound Scorch Trial friends , can Thomas find them a way out and get to the bottom of why he is important ?
A great sequel to The Maze Runner and I look forward to reading the next book in the Quartet - The Death Cure.
