The Accidental Socialite

Review: The Accidental Socialite - Stephanie Wahlstrom - April 2014

Paige Crawford wanted a change in life , so one day she decided to move from the comforts of Canada to London, UK and little did she know within a couple of days of being in London her life was going to change dramatically and drastically as well. All because of one clumsy incident , Paige finds herself sky-rocketing from being a nobody and anonymous to becoming one of the most sought after socialites in London. Everyone wants a piece of Paige from the Paparazzi which is really starting to put a damper on her life as they follow and record her every move - even the unfortunate farting during Yoga incident to showing up when she is on a date. Turns out though you get all the glamour, freebies and invites -not to mention celebrity outings and being on a first-name basis, being in the limelight isn't all it is cracked up to be as Paige will also learn what it's like to be used, hated and even judged all in the name of a story spun out of out context.
A few lessons that The Accidental Socialite teaches readers is :
A) Always look your best as you never know who might be around
B) Fame and Fortune isn't all it is cracked up to be
C) Never Believe everything you read in newspapers, magazines and tabloids.
The Accidental Socialite was a fun and light-hearted read which reminded me of the film "The Princess Diaries" , "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" crossed with "Monte Carlo".
