Review: The One - Kiera Cass
Review: The One - Book #3 The Selection Series - Kiera Cass - May 2014
Do you ever get nervous when you read the last book in a series ? I know I do, I worry about how it's going to work out and whether the author has chosen the right ending for the book , whether the novel will live up to the others in the series or will it be a let down ? It's even worse when it is the last book in a series that you have LOVED. At the end of Book #2 we read as the girls from the Selection were left down to four contestants - America , Celeste, Elise and Kris and that the rebels were nearing in with taking over the castle. Also of course , we saw that America was still tied between her love for Aspen and her new found love for Maxon. In The One, we discover who Maxon will choose when the time comes for his new wife, but is his choice the right one and will the "wife" be able to complete all the kingdom duties appropriately and without causing shame on the palace. Also tragedy will strike in "The One" for America's family but in doing so, America will soon discover the truth behind her father and his actions as well as who her true friends and family are. This is quite a nail-biting ending as we watch till the last pages the numbers dwindled down to two choices and both of them , one more so than the other are perfect matches for Maxon. Who will Maxon choose and will it choose out of love or duty ? Will he choose who is best for him or who is best suited for the role of "Queen" and the Kingdom, one who can follow the rules ?
Find out in this amazing and in parts sad finishing to a wonderful series by Kiera Cass and I look forward as I am sure many others will too, in reading the Short Stories that spin-off from the series.
