Review: Royal Date - Book #1 The Royals of Monterra Series - Sariah Wilson - March 2015

Trawling through my kindle wanting something to read this wet lazy Sunday, I came across a royalty romance, and with it being Christmas time. I thought why not read a Christmas Winter Break royalty romance.  This happens to also be another one of my favorite tropes of an ordinary - not super stunning commoner having a member of the Royal family fall in love with them and bonus points if the commoner is loved by the rest of the Royal family and is a genuinely nice person. Royal Date by Sariah Wilson starts with Kat and her best friend Lemon on holiday in Monterra as Lemon's parents shouted them a skiing trip before they present their thesis for their Masters. While waiting for Lemon, Kat is busy reading and is hit on by Nico. She is not interested in a romance and not a holiday fling. The story then jumps to Lemon and Kat skiing and an accident occurs with Kat. Three days later Kat wakes up and she is the Monterra Castle. Turns out Nico is Prince Dominic of Monterra.  Lemon sees this as an opportunity to not only help out her Masters's but also have a great holiday plan for Kat, which includes spending some time fake dating the Prince. Throughout the book, Kat will spend not only time with Nico but also get to know the rest of the royal family especially his younger sisters Serafina and Chiara. I loved Kat's genuineness in this book and the fact that she cared about others and that she had a not-so-great background as flawed characters are my favorite as it adds more realism to the book. When it is time for this fantasy to come to an end as Kat and Lemon are due back in America at school, will she be ready for life without the Prince or will the past weeks have changed both their perspectives on love and marriage? Find out in this lovely contemporary romance "Royal Date" by Sariah Wilson, which is the perfect read for all those lovers of the Hallmark Channel Commoner's/ Royalty romance movies.
