Review : Traces of Kara - Melissa Foster
Review: Traces of Kara - Melissa Foster - February 2013
Kara Knight couldn't wait to start her
new life, a fresh start away from the small town she lived in and all the looks
as she discovered her now ex-husband had been cheating on her for almost a
year. Her mum Mimi also keeps trying to push her back to Daryl and her stepdad
and Kara have never seen eye to eye. What was a normal working day for her
though ended up being a massive life change she never expected? Ronald Greer
has waited years to be reunited with his twin sister Marissa and finally has
managed to track her down and just in time for their 30th Birthday. When the
twins were little, they were adopted and then split up and Ronald lost track of
Marissa. Now he has found her in Kara, but Kara has no idea what he is talking
about as her name isn't Marissa and she has no recollection but as the night
wears on she starts to remember a few things like how she had an imaginary
friend called Ronald and a trip to the Zoo where she met a scarred boy. We
learn that ever since the twins were born, Ronald was obsessed with Marissa and
this is what caused the split. Can Ronald and Marissa be reunited in death? Or
will Kara be found before Ronald can complete his birthday wish? As I love new
identity novels and books with mental health/ mental illnesses and twins,
Traces of Kara was right up my alley. The only downside for me though was that
the majority of characters in this book just felt quite weak-minded and without
backbones, It needed some strong characters as a few had potential. However, if
you are looking for a romantic suspense to read, check out this oldie Traces of
Kara by Melissa Foster.
