Review: One of the Girls - Lucy Clarke
Review: One of the Girls - Lucy Clarke - June 2022
One of the Girls by Lucy
Clarke had captured my attention as it was supposed to be the hen's party of a
lifetime and the best week away for a group of six friends. This Greek holiday
though will set life in motion and end in tragedy and change not one but all of
the girls' lives as secrets and lies are revealed and unearthed on this hen's
week. Lexi never thought she would ever get married, until she met Ed. Her best
friend Bree has never liked Ed and for good reason but she loves Lexi, so will
go along with the wedding. Along for the hen's party is Bree's girlfriend Fen,
Robyn - an old school friend of Bree's and Lexi's, Eleanor - Ed's sister, and
then Ana - Lexi's new friend. Each of the girls though has secrets that they
want hidden and will find this the weekend, all will be revealed. For Bree -
she will finally get the forgiveness she has yearned for since leaving her job
as a nurse, Fen - will get payback for that tragic night seven years ago in
Greece, Robyn - will finally rediscover her true self and find love, and Eleanor
- will finally learn the truth about her husband's death and get her revenge,
Ana - will finally get her revenge on the guy who ruined her life and Luca's
dad and Lexi - will have to choose of a lifetime to save those she loves dearly,
even if it may cost her. This book had a similar feel to the book/ TV series
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. If you enjoyed Liane's book, then you will
feel right at home with Lucy Clarke's One of the Girls and it may also leave
you dreaming of your own idyllic holiday in Greece- which is on my bucket list.
