Review: Chase Me - Tessa Bailey

Review: Chase Me - Book #1 Broke and Beautiful Series - Tessa Bailey - March 2015, Re-released August 2023

I was so excited to receive this series from HarperCollins NZ, as Tessa Bailey is like the Queen of Romantic Comedies and #MeetCute moments for me. I always find her characters fun and likable and a bit quirky and Chase Me was no different. I also loved the new covers for this series as they match her quirkiness a bit more than the realistic covers which were more angst-ridden than I felt. In Chase Me, we meet our main female character Roxy who is dressed as a pink bunny as she is working as a singing telegram deliverer her first client of the day is a lawyer named Louis who has had a one-night stand to write a song about his penis. This part made me laugh and reminded me of the Penis Song in the movie The Sweetest Thing. If you haven't heard it, then you need to YouTube the clip. This is our #meetcute moment as now Louis can't get Roxy and the kiss they share out of his mind. He needs to see her more and what better way than to order a telegram to his work office? Will Roxy be charmed by this lawyer and his money or will he need to work harder to “chase her”? We also see Roxy meeting new roomies and getting a cheap deal on an apartment with Honey and Abby. I am looking forward to the other books as these two have just as much personality as Roxy especially Honey and her cooking utensils. If you love quirky romance reads, lots of laughs and females that won't take being hurt lying down then the Broke and Beautiful Series is for you. I am now looking forward to reading Book #2 in this series and enjoying more romantic comedy antics from Tessa Bailey.
