Review: The Tutor's Daughter - Julia Klassen - January 2013
As a fan of Julia Klassen's book "The Silent Governess" and the fact that I love reading boarding school type novels , when I saw that The Tutor's Daughter was available I jumped at the chance to read a copy. Set in the1800's in the lovely countryside of the UK we meet Emma Smallwood and her father , for the past few years Emma's father has run a boarding school for boys but recently Emma's mother has passed and now her father seems to be on the way to a downward depression spiral caused by the grief of his wife. Eager to get her father back to his ordinary self , Emma with the help of old friends the Westons - she manages to get him a job tutoring Julian and Rowan Weston. Emma growing up with the boys had a love/hate relationship with them both and now here they are all gathered as adults. When Emma arrives though, strange and odd things start happening which turns this novel from a historical novel to a bit of a paranormal mystery. Is there a ghost at the Manor or is it something that science itself can explain with a perfectly good reason ? Will Emma whom is considered an old maid in the society of the setting finally be rid of that label and find herself in the arms of a Weston - be it Henry or Philip ?
Find out all this and more in The Tutor's Daughter by Julia Klassen as it contains something for everyone from historical romance , suspense, paranormal and mystery.
