Review: Second Honeymoon - Book#2 O'Hara Series - James Patterson and Howard Roughan - June 2013

When it comes to James Patterson's books, I am always there in a flash as I love the way his books are short chapters, fast-paced and keep the readers enticed and I am all for his way of giving new writers and familiar ones a chance to jump start their way into the writing world. However in saying that, as true James Patterson fans will know - his books vary and it really depends on who he is writing with -to whether or not the book will be awesome or just average. For me, one of the authors that I am not too keen on is when I read his books is Howard Roughan. It's not that his books are boring as they are interesting stories, it's just that his plots are over-busy and can feel like the story is going off in lots of different tangents. Second Honeymoon is a sequel to the book Honeymoon which was released in early 2000's featuring FBI Agent John O'Hara. In Second Honeymoon, the drunk driver who killed his wife is being released from jail and the FBI are worried that John might try and extract revenge. Meanwhile a murder has happened in the Caribbean whilst a couple were on their honeymoon - the couple is the son of a wealthy billionaire. So of course using connections hires John to solve the crime. Meanwhile , another plot line is running through the book where an escaped mental patient Ned Sinclair has gone on a killing spree across the nations and is targeting people by the name of John O'Hara. How are the two stories connected ? What has FBI agent John O'Hara have to do with Ned Sinclair ? Are they even connected, the two events ?
Find out in Second Honeymoon by James Patterson and Howard Roughan.
