Review: Breaking the Reins - Juliana Haygert - August 2013

Growing up , I used to love reading the books where horses featured from The Saddle Club to Pony Pals . So when I saw that Juliana Haygert had written a new adult novel with horses included, I just had to read it and readers I was in for a roller coaster of a read. Breaking the reins starts with a tragedy and then flips to Eight months later where the main story begins and Hannah is now living and running her Grandmother's ranch with the help of Jimmy - a stable hand. When trying to fix a broken horse , Hannah runs into a Latin Knight in Cowboy gear by the name of Leo. As it turns out Leo is a Brazilian Polo Player and is up against Hannah's boyfriend Eric. The story sets along at a nice pace where we watch the friendship between Leo and Hannah blossom and then about halfway to three quarters a way through the novel we read as Eric's true colours start to surface and we discover he is a psychopath and dangerous. When he starts to become violent against Hannah- will she run and be with Leo or will Eric hold something that Hannah loves dearly and make her stay with him ?
Breaking the Reins was an amazing story and shows that with the right people in our lives - we can grow and blossom and also the negative side of having bad people in our lives and how their toxicity can ruin ones life, maybe even end that life.
Breaking the Reins by Juliana Haygert is a book that all those who love Horses will enjoy and with the New Adult twist giving the book a note of Edginess.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
