VBT# No Apologies - Sybil Bartel

Review: No Apologies - Sybil Bartel - June 2014

Are you in the mood for a Bad Boy Rocker with a dysfunctional background love story ? No Apologies introduces us to Graham Allen and his friend Mason who are in a band together , their lives look great from the outside but deep down they are both hiding secrets. For Mason, it is the fact that he is in love with Sam who is only seventeen but he knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, no more groupies but can their relationship afford to be brought out into the public eye as she is underage and he could be brought up on charges for statutory rape, though of course it is consensual or can they work out a way to be together out of the public's cameras ? The main star of this book though is Graham Allen and his life is one he tries very hard to keep under wraps as for the first twelve years of his life he was psychically abused and this was the twist by his mother not his father. Now years later he has found the distance between him and his family, but what happens when his father contacts him with the news that his mother wants to talk to him and she is dying , will  he be able to forgive and forget or will he stand by the motto of "No Apologies" as nothing she will say will take back the hurt he experienced growing up by parents who were supposed to love him ? When Graham meets Carly, the bartender he falls for her but he tries so hard not too as his number #1 rule in life is Never Fall in Love because it always ends up in pain and hurting but with Carly he feels more than he should, but what will happen when graham discovers Carly has been hiding a secret and his whole world from that moment comes crashing down ? Will he be able to climb back up from the darkness with Carly's help or will she discover that Graham can't be saved with apologies.
