Deadly Impulse

Review: Deadly Impulse - Book #6 Detective Madison Knight Series - Carolyn Arnold - October 2015

Needing a good mystery novel to sink your teeth into ? One that will have you guessing at not only who the killer is but also the reason behind the murders ? Deadly Impulse starts off with an old woman being found murdered outside the hospital - with no ID. Detective Madison Knight is back on the case after an incident with the Russian Mafia , that had her life hanging on a thread during a game of Russian Roulette that they played on her as we read flashbacks to the events of her kidnapping. This case for Madison, seems personal and has her remembering about her own grandmother whom she was close to and we read as we discover that Madison displays some almost Aspergers behaviours.  Finally with an ID , Madison goes to inform the next of Kin and the sister seems heartbroken. What will happen though when the niece of the dead woman is also found murdered and a homeless guy ? Are the murders connected and why is someone targeting this family ? Is  the Killer someone from outside the family unit or are they a little closer to home as family drama and secrets, lies are unravelled ? In some parts, I found Deadly Impulse's character Madison a bit annoying as she had quite closed -off walls and her character frustrated me. Overall though if you are in the mood for a good mystery novel with a few kills , then check out Deadly Impulses by Carolyn Arnold.
