Review: Misbehaving - Abbi Glines

Review: Misbehaving - Book #6 SeaBreeze Series - Abbi Glines - December 2013

One of my favourite New Adult romance writers is Abbi Glines. Most New Adult books tend to focus on some edgy issue and big dramas and play around with the idea and use it as the basis of their story but what I love about Abbi Glines's books is that they are more romantic and though the characters tend to be all messed up in their own ways, she chooses to focus more on the romance aspect rather than the "poor me" I'm this way because of my nasty childhood or something tragic happened to me which caused me to be this way aspects". The other thing that I absolutely love about Abbi Glines books and this goes for both her Rosemary Beach and SeaBreeze books is that the characters all intertwine with one another so in a book they may play a minor or a major character but they feature somewhere.  In Misbehaving by Abbi Glines, which is the sixth book in the SeaBreeze series we have the two main characters of Jess - who is cousin's with Rock and Rock is married to Trisha - who is Marcus and Amanda's older sister and also the couple that adopted Preston's younger siblings after his mum died. Jess in previous novels as made small guest appearances. The male lead goes to Jason Stone who is the younger brother of rockstar Jax Stone. Jax Stone is the one married to Sadie and we had their story in Breathe - Book #1. Sick of always living in his brother's shadow, Jason just wants to hang loose and have fun, but he never thought he would finally find love in SeaBreeze for himself as on a night of wild mayhem he meets Jess - who is from the other side of the tracks. She is everything that he isn't and he should not be near her but he can't help it. So what begins as a little fun and misbehaving though starts to turn into something more solid but what will happen when Jess gets a taste of his world and starts to believe she doesn't and never will belong ? Will she miss her one chance at happiness or will Jason get Jess to realise that she is his one and only ?
As a big fan of the TV Show Gilmore Girls, I really loved the dating analogies from Jess's Mum Starla about the guys in her life and how they relate to being a Dean - First Love , Logan - the rich one and Jess- The Soulmate and of course Rory- the girl. Thinking back to my GG days , I loved the character Jess and always did hope that somewhere along the track Rory got back with him as he did have high hopes and potential.
