Review: Playing Jenna - Kiersten Modglin

Review: Playing Jenna - Kiersten Modglin - March 2017

As someone who reads a lot of thrillers and enjoys them, I am always on the lookout for new authors to discover. A few months back, I saw this author Kiersten Modglin talk about a bit on Facebook in the groups I belonged to. Playing Jenna was the second book by this author that I have read and enjoyed this crazy ride. The book starts by introducing us to Monroe who has been married to Colt for over thirty years and one night she hears her husband mumble another female's name - Jenna. This causes her to chuck her husband out as how can she be with him if he is cheating on her? Monroe then tries to sort her own life out by attending therapy with Natalie and also gets herself a job as a waitress. During this time and ordeal, we also learn that Colt has a two-year-old daughter called Tiffany to Jenna. As the book started, we all hated Colt for being unfaithful, but then the book takes a weird crazy twist and soon you realize that Colt isn't the bad guy and that he does love Monroe in his way. When it got to twist, I was like woah and with the introduction of edginess and mental health, this started to become something up my alley. Playing Jenna was a great read and a crazy ride and if you love movies like Spilt and Se7en, then Playing Jenna by Kiersten Modglin is the read for you. I definitely will be checking out more books by this author in the future.
