Review: The Shadow Tracer - Meg Gardiner

Today's review is the latest Mystery novel by Meg Gardiner. Meg is one of my favourite mystery/thriller writers and as soon as I saw this new book by her, I knew I just had to read it and I read it all in one sitting.

Review: The Shadow Tracer - Meg Gardiner - June 2013

The Shadow Tracer is one of those rare mystery suspense novels that pull you in from the very first page as we read about a young women running away from a burning house in the snow with a little baby. Then the novel jumps five years and we meet Sarah Keller - who works as a skip tracer, tracing those who are needed for trials or those who have skipped/tried to skip the country. While out on the job, Sarah is phoned as her five year old daughter Zoe has been in a school bus accident. Sarah races to the hospital , only to discover that this is the way down as the doctors after performing an X-ray have discovered that Zoe was RFID and that Sarah is not Zoe's mother.  Readers, soon see Zoe and Sarah along with help from friends along the journey start to go on the run and we discover who Zoe's mother is and why she was radio-chipped and why Sarah took Zoe as her own daughter to protect her. Word has gotten out that Zoe is alive and now not only the FBI are on Sarah's trail but also a Cult run by a family known as the "Worthes" as Zoe's father Nolan was one of the Elder's sons and they want Zoe to join the family.
Can Sarah keep herself and Zoe alive and safe ? Who can they trust as everyone they encounter seems to hold their own agenda ?
A fast-paced thriller , The Shadow Tracer is one book that reader's will not be able to put down and if you are like me , you will want to read it all in one sitting.
