Olin Kemper
is the ruthless, power obsessed C.E.O. of Winscott & Associates. On his path to the top, Olin has been
responsible for the ruin of many lives and committed numerous shady deals. Even though he is hugely unpopular and his
colleagues are aware of his corrupt nature, nothing or no-one stands in his way
and if he sets his sights on something, invariably he gets it.
Audra Tanner
is an employee at the company; a diligent workaholic, Audra has sacrificed much
in her personal life to progress up the career ladder of the firm. But sadly ambition is to prove her downfall. When in line for a promotion, Audra is led
into a trap; having repeatedly foiled the unwanted attentions of lecherous
Olin, Audra has only fuelled his rampant ego.
She agrees to meet with him but rather than receiving a promotion, she
is savagely beaten and raped. Although her work colleagues are aware of the
meeting and even on the same floor as the assignation, no one comes to her aid,
for fear of upsetting Olin. But hell
hath no fury like a woman scorned and Audra, unlike her contemporaries, decides
to plot and unleash her own retribution.
Wow! What a
rollercoaster of a ride. The plot was
very fast paced and had so many twists and turns which captivated the reader’s
attention. Although in parts some of the
subject matter could be uncomfortable to read, nevertheless, the plot was so
well written that it kept the reader hooked.
The ending definitely lends itself to a sequel and I would not hesitate
to read the next book.
