Review: The Bet - Rachel Van Dyken

Review: The Bet - Book #1 Bet Series - Rachel Van Dyken - March 2013

I don't know what it is , but I am dreadful at often reading series in order. It's like I have this affinity to read them out of order and trust me it is never an intentional move. The one thing I am glad is that often the ones that I do read out of order , aren't nessecary to have read Book #1 so I can always catch the gist.  The Bet is Book #1 of a series in which I read Book #2 a couple of months back.  In The Bet , we have a wicked love triangle which begins when the three main characters were little children. Kacey is the girl and she has since birth been best friends with Jake - he is one of the guys, the thing is though that Jake's older brother Travis - the other guy is also in love with Kacey and believes that one day she will be his and it will be his ring on her finger not Jake's. When the boys are younger, they start this bet of One Million dollars to see who will have Kacey first and so begins years of back and forth and games with each brother trying to get one better on the other. Now years later,  Kacey has recieved news that Jake and Travis's grandmother is ill and dying and of course her last wish is to see one of her boys married to Kacey. So begins the challenge where Jake asks Kacey for the course of the time she's staying here to be his fake fiance . We have all read books like this and know that more often this can only end in disaster.  Normally in books like this , there isn't a love triangle but in The Bet there is and what will happen when Travis arrives and Kacey finds herself falling for the older brother. Who will win the Bet - Travis or Jake ? Which will get the girl and will any of them actually get the girl when Kacey discovers their little betting game going on ?
Find out in this awesome book by Rachel Van Dyken - the first in her Bet Series . A New Adult Romance that all will enjoy and readers if you love Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum books then you will love Jake and Travis's Grandmother.
