Review: That's a Promise - Book #1  Promises, Promises - Victoria Klahr - December 2013

Rising up from tragedy is one thing , but working so hard to put it all behind you only to discover the worst to come is bad enough. Josie Summers was raped and almost killed one night while out with her friends at a club, until her best friend Seth stepped in and saved her life. Over the next few years, he built back up her confidence. Now the pair of them are off to College and that's where Josie meets Blake - the hot guy and the one guy that she has started to give her heart too. Only though to have it broken and betrayed as it turns out she has more than a connection to Blake that just a romantic one . The novel then jumps forward to present time and one of Josie's dads have passed away and Blake turns up at the funeral and we also discover that she has lost friendship with Seth, something we never expected.
This novel follows the same formula as many other New Adult novels , but jumps back and forth between the present time and the past two-three years she was in College.
If you are in the mood for an Edgy New Adult novel , then check out the first Book #1 in Victoria Klahr's series "Promises, Promises". One of the hardest things in the world beside trust to keep.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
