Review: Broken Promises - Book #1 Broken Series - Dawn Pendleton - April 2013

Growing up it was the Dynamic Duo - just Mallory and her Dad, until she meet Luke and the three became quite close . Then the decision time came and Mallory was left to re-evaluate her life with either head off to college and get her degree in Boston or stay home in their smalltown and play housewife to Luke who had no plans on going anywhere but their smalltown ,that they grew up in. Years pass , and Mallory gets a call to say her father is sick and she trudges home to discover he has Cancer. She believes it is a new thing as she hasn't been told this before. Heading home, she runs into Luke working on her dad's property and the two have a verbal sparring match and seems that differences and feelings that they thought had disappeared -in fact haven't. Over the next few weeks , we will read as Luke and Mallory are occassionally chucked into each other's paths and chemistry and sparks that have been dormant start to re-ignite. When it's time for Mallory to head home though, will she go and leave Luke behind once more ? Or have the pairs feelings changed and this time neither party will back down and leave without telling them what's in their heart and on their minds. If you are wanting a nice reunion type romance with a bit of unresolved issues floating around the place, then check out Book #1 in the Broken series by Dawn Pendleton.

It's time for serial killer time to strike again with Sean Slater's new Detective Jacob Striker novel out titled with the same name as a popular children's game "Snakes and Ladders". Review: Snakes and Ladders - Detective Jacob Striker Book #2 - Sean Slater - March 2012 It's amazing how much a cover can get you to read a book and then you discover, well I actually like this author as I picked up Sean Slater's first book "The Survivor" due to the fact that the cover had a hockey mask and reminded me of Friday the 13th and I really enjoyed the novel as well as the fact it was a school shooting which for some reason I enjoy reading about as it fascinates me ( just to add - I'm not pyschotic LOL) .
