Dinner, Sex and a Movie

Review: Dinner, Sex and a Movie - Sean Develin - January 2013

Firstly if you are wanting a normal novel type book to read , then this isn't the book for you as Dinner, Sex and a Movie - though the combination sounds wonderful , it is in fact set out like a play -right through the entire story. Having this format and reading it by yourself, I found it a bit difficult and a little harder to get into the story. In saying that though, you were able to catch the gist of the book. Jake is a musician in a band which has finished it's current tour and so he's been busy teaching lessons at the local high school when by chance or is it fate , he decides to look under the piano and there is five girls names with their phone numbers next to it. The names and numbers have been their for fifteen years and Jake tries the first one on the list -Emma . He gets her and she can't believe that even after all this time, someone contacted her due to their childish games of writing their names on the bottom of a piano.  Jake decides what the heck and asks Emma out on a date, she doesn't believe in showing but something pushes her out of her comfort zone and she turns up. Surprisingly they hit it off well and end up having the threesome of Dinner, Sex and Movie but will this be just a one night stand or is it possible for the musician and lawyer to start a relationship ? This is one of those light-hearted romance dating stories of prank calls turned into something greater.
If you are in the mood ,this February for a romance read to help celebrate the month of Valentine's Day, then check out "Dinner, Sex and a Movie".
