Review: The Chaplain's Daughter - KT Hastings

The Chaplain's Daughter

Review: The Chaplain's Daughter - K.T Hastings - July 2013

With this book I'm not sure if I brought it because the girl has this whole geek is the new sexy look going on, which as a book geek I like or the fact that she was the Chaplain's daughter which again as a Christian I find books like this fascinating and then again I am a scuker for forbidden romance type stories. The Chaplain's Daughter was a quick read and starts off with Toby who has been in and out of the law system ever since he was young and now on the night of his birthday, it's no different. There is one thing that has changed though, due to his age he now has been sent to actual prison. It is during his time here he meets John , the prison chaplain who starts to talk about Jesus with Toby and forgiveness etc. Over the next months that Toby is in prison, John is the only one to visit him and they start to bond and form a relationship. When release date arrives, Toby has nowhere to go and John offers his house to him. The thing is though that John's daughter Alyssa isn't thrilled one bit about this and so begins the tension around the house as she views him as your ordinary criminal -bad boy. What happens though when Toby starts to ensure his act is cleaned up and Alyssa starts to fall for him , just as he is offered a job out of town ? Will the pair decide to make things work or will Toby prove to Alyssa that she is better off without him as she has her whole life and law school ahead of her, not to mention - she is the Chaplain's Daughter ?
