VBT# Scratched - Marie Long
Review: Scratched - Book #2 The Anderson Brothers - Marie Long - August 2015
Do you enjoy reading about African-American characters and enjoy reading about books where it's all about the bass, no trouble ? Scratched by Marie Long, I thought judging by the cover would be your usual contemporary romance but I was definitely in for an emotional and bumpy ride as the lives of the characters are anything but rosy and cheerful. Scratched is about Kevin Anderson - he is the middle child and at 24, he is responsible for his younger brother Dom and doing what makes him happy - being a DJ and playing basketball. Reading Scratched, we learn that Kevin was on his way to the top in basketball and could have easily been drafted until due to family issues - he had to drop out of college. This is the part that gets edgy and if you aren't one for abuse - then do not read any further as this book isn't for you. Dom - the youngest brother was raped by his father who ten years ago almost killed Kevin the same night. His father took the cowards way out and killed himself, but the family has never been the same. Now ten years later, it's their mum's birthday and she wants all her sons under the same roof. Can Kevin get that to work especially with all the bad blood and memories between them all ? The other storyline that runs through is that Kevin wants someone to love him, someone to love him- for him and not for the fame and fortune that comes with his DJ'ing and sport. Has he found that with Trinity ? Or is she only interested in the "Kevintron" side of him and will he allow himself to be "burned" once again ?
Find out in "Scratched" by Marie Long.
