Review: Heart Shaped Hack - Tracey Garvis Graves

Heart-Shaped Hack (Kate and Ian, #1)

Review: Heart Shaped Hack - Book #1 Kate and Ian Series - Tracey Garvis Graves - August 2015

Heart Shaped Hack first off has an amazing cover and was another amazing story by Tracey Garvis Graves. After beinge-watching season one of CSI Cyber, I  think that made me enjoy this book more as we meet Ian who is a hacker - watching the show allowed me to learn some of the terminology that was scattered throughout the novel.  Kate, gave up her illustrious law career to work in a non-profit food pantry and nearing the winter months, the food pantry is running low on funds for everything that they need so she agrees to go on TV to try and gain sponsors and donations. Her stunt on TV gives Ian an idea to become Robin Hood and starts giving anonymous donations to the shelter until Kate catches him and thus begins an awkward back and forward relationship as Kate has been brought up in a family where the Law system is important and should be followed and Ian of course is a hacker which depending on people's views can be illegal. During the novel the pair become romantically involved and they have fun - I loved all the little hacks that Ian does for Kate . Their relationship goes well until tragedy strikes and yes, this part will have your hearts sinking as tears start welling up in your eyes and you are like NOOOOOOOOO - how could you Tracey do this to us and Kate ? I shall finish here though and leave you with the fact that there is a twist in the tale and it will be one book that you will not be able to put down and that you must read past the tragic moment as the outcome is suprising. I am now looking forward to reading Book #2 and the next adventures of the Kate and Ian Series.
