Review: Believe - Erin McCarthy

Believe (True Believers, #3)

Review: Believe - Book #3 True Believers Series - Erin McCarthy -  January 2014

What happens when two people running from their past and trying to start fresh and new fall into each other's arms yet their pasts haven't exactly left them. Can the pair make each other believe that the other person is worth it and that sometimes in the game of love, when all else fails , you have to often believe that you have found a good thing and that though more often than not most good things are too good to be true, that in the darkness if you believe then you have hit the jackpot of love.  Robin used to be the party girl in her group, dressing up to the nines , hooking up with strangers and getting wasted as that's what college was all about right , hanging loose and experimenting ? That was until one party where she got so wasted that she blacked out and when she awoke the next morning, she had done the one thing she thought she would or could never do and that was sleep with her best friend's Kylie's boyfriend Nathan.  As a result of this, Robin goes downhill pretty fast due to guilt which shows us Robin's true character and that no matter what had happened that night, she actually is one of the nicest and decent girls as if she wasn't then she would not have gotten so depressed and sick with guilt over a one night stand that happened due to alcohol.  Phoenix , has just gotten out of jail and is staying with his cousins' till he can find some place to live and get a job. His cousin Riley happens to be Robin's friend Jessica's boyfriend and so the pair meet when he is staying at Riley's. The pair start talking and sparks are a flying, I loved this book as Phoenix had never been spoilt and treated with simple things like picnics, and part of Phoenix's personality and upbringing and then Robin's made me think of my boyfriend and I as there were some similarities in characteristics. I think that's what made me enjoy this story even more so, the other part that I loved about this book was that no matter what the other person had done and thought they could not be forgiven - the other person in question showed them that true love forgives and that nobody is perfect but if you truly love one another flaws and all - things that often are deemed important slide away and you are left with the real gritty details and that if the person still stays when they have seen that side, then ding ding - you have found a winner.
I'm a sucker for the Edgy New Adult Love Stories that have a HEA, and if you are too - then check out Believe as you will be a "Believe"r of True Love once you have turned the last page.
