Review: Alienated - Melissa Landers

Alienated (Alienated, #1)

Review: Alienated - Book #1 Alienated Series - Melissa Landers - February 2014

Sit back and imagine , which side of the fence would you be on if an alien race that looked like me and you and acted a bit like us decided to come to earth and integrate their current generation of teens into our high schools ? Would you be supportive of it or would you be one of those against and would deem it as an abomination ? Reading Alienated by Melissa Landers, reminded me ALOT of the TV Show which unfortunately only lasted one season Star-Crossed in which a race of alien landed on Earth and years later they decided to pick five of them to integrate and attend school with the humans. Some of the kids accepted it and others were totally against it and wished them harm and foul play ensued. In Alienated, Cara has been chosen to host Aelyx - one of the aliens. He will spend time here on Earth and then vice versa she will attend his planet. During Alienated, we read as nations divide between those who think they are abnominations to those that see them as just another human ethnicity and accept them for who they are. Friendships will be lost, Loyalties divided and Alienated will prove that not everyone accepts the choice to get along and often when you stand-up and believe in something, deadly consequences can occur and readers are left wondering whether it is Brave or Plain stupidity to stand up for what you believe, no matter how dire the outcome will be.
As I was reading through the book, I did note quite a few similarities to Star-Crossed and believe that if you loved the TV Show then you will fall in love with not only Aelyx but also the Alienated series by Melissa Landers.
