Review: Unleased - Sophie Jordan

Unleashed (Uninvited, #2)

Review: Unleashed - Book #2 Uninvited Series - Sophie Jordan - February 2015

Set in the year 2018 which was interesting to read as it is only really three years away, genetics have proven that some of us contain the HTS gene in our DNA Strands - having this gene means that we are prone to becoming killers or pyschopaths so what the government did was round up and test everyone and those with the HTS gene were sent to detention camps or training facilities depending on what their academics or skills/talents were. At the camp Davy met Sean and the two became close friends and dating and all was well until Davy was forced to make a decision - kill an anonymous person or Sean would be killed , so she did what she had to and killed a stranger. Now that stranger haunts her in her dreams and she finds herself drifting away from Sean , it couldn't come at a worst time either as Sean, Davy, Gil and Sabine have escaped the camp and are on the run and they must stick together if they are going to survive. All goes to plan, until they are attacked and Davy finds herself shot and separated from the pack. This leads her to meet Caden as he rescues her and takes her back to the group known as "the resistance" . Here Davy starts to find herself again, it takes a lot of effort and during this time ,her character annoyed me in places as she just seemed to be wallowing in self-pity too much. I felt like shaking her and saying, get over it - bad stuff happens to everybody. During this time, Davy eventually starts to rediscover who she was before the whole HTS diagnosis and develops feelings for Caden and then you are left wondering is this going to be another one of those love triangles like we had in Delirium . I shall finish the review there as I do not want to give the ending away, but I will say readers I am happy how the ending of Unleashed and the Uninvited series finished.
So readers, if you are in the mood for a Dystopian novel , Check out Unleashed by Sophie Jordan today.
