Review: Scary Mary - Book #1 Scary Mary - S.A Hunter - August 2010

If you enjoy TV shows like Ghost Whisperer and Medium then you will really enjoy Scary Mary as this book is based on Mary who can see ghosts and talk to the dead. This story tells how Mary is nicknamed a freak girl and everyone stays away from her . She is about to endure another year of only having her best friend as a friend, when a new guy starts school called Cy. He seems to be attracted to Mary and finds her interesting. However what happens when Mary discovers that Cy's house is haunted by a ghost that likes to possess people and kill them . Will he think she is a freak and alienate her like the rest of the school when she discovers he is in danger and tries to warn him ? Or will he accept her for the person she is and help her to figure out what is going on ?
This was one of those quick teen reads that is sort of Ghost Whisperer meets Urban Legend 3: with an avengeful ghost rather than Casper the friendly ghost which makes a reference in this book.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
