Walk on the Wild Side: The Reinvention of Violet Monte

Review: Walk on the Wild Side - Suzie Jay - April 2015

Violet Monte got married young and had a child, she dreamed of living the perfect life with her husband until of course she found him in bed with a younger woman. This was the start of the age-old classic reinvention type story for Violet. During this book Violet , tries to re-discover her place in this world in between telling her nieces and nephews tales of her revenge plans as bedtime stories. Needing to get away, Violet heads to stay with her son David who works as a police officer in homicide. Noticing David is living out of a suitcase , Violet does some investigating of her own and learns that David can only settle down once a serial killer has been caught. Wanting to help on the sly, Violet does her own detecting and finds out that the killer has been hiding out in the local florist shop. During this time also Violet meets John and begins a new relationship. Is Violet ready to let go of her past and move on and settle in with John or during her re-invention has she turned herself into a crazy woman who won't let her mind settle until she discovers what she wants to do with the rest of her life ?  This book was very fluffy and the writing style reminded me of Tracie Banister's book "Twin Piques" whereas like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series - Walk on the Wild Side had her busy numerous plot strands.
