VBT# Good and Gone - Britney King ( Part 2/2)
Review: Good and Gone - Britney King - October 2022
It has been a while since I have read a Britney King book, but the ones I had read previously I have enjoyed and I have found they are all good psychological thrillers. Good and Gone caught my attention as our main female lead Hailey is a social media influencer/ model and has built up quite a following this is her life, and juggling her family which is her two kids Mason and Lily, and her husband Tyler. The book starts with Hailey's youngest daughter telling her family that she saw the man again outside her window and he wants Hailey. The family dismiss it as Lily is five years old and she also has special needs - they didn't fully touch on it but sounded to me like she was on the autism spectrum. After a tough work day and everything going wrong, Hailey goes for a run. While out and about, she finds herself kidnapped and thus the story begins flipping between her life with the kidnappers and her own family searching for her and being in the spotlight with the police and FBI. Can Hailey escape and return to her life or will this incident damage her and cause her PSTD and other injuries? When the truth is revealed, it looks like they aren't going to rest until they kidnap Hailey again and get her back to their "safe house". With the law not doing anything worthwhile, it seems Tyler and Hailey are going to have to become vigilantes in their own right to save their family as a whole. Good and Gone was a slow-burn thriller, but a good psychological read and touches on the topic of baby farming. If you love thrillers and looking for a new author, don't forget to check out Britney King and her backlist of books.
