Review: Beyond Wilder - Leigh Tudor
Review: Beyond Wilder - Book #2 Wilder Sisters - Leigh Tudor - June 2021
At the end of book #1, we
read as Loren Wilder - the oldest sister was captured and tricked and headed
back to the institute where they had escaped from. This time though, Loren aka
Ava Halstead has a plan and hopes that if it works out that she will be holding
all the cards. The one thing that Loren didn't count on of course was that she
was leaving behind people who love her and want to help. Loren has been a lone
wolf for so long and protecting those she loved, she doesn't open up easily to
anyone. Mercy aka Mara Halstead isn't ready to lose her sister and let her
sister be a sacrificial lamb as they only just got used to a new life. Now
Mercy along with newcomers Alex Wilder and Trevor Forrest will head back to
Bancroft Institute and rescue Loren. However, Trevor has his reasons as
Bancroft institute has his daughter Hayley. During the book, Mercy will
discover the three new children who are being raised to be the Halstead sisters'
replacements and she isn't ready for them to go through what they did and so
she is breaking them out one way or another. Eventually, this results in
Mercy finding herself in the middle of a fake engagement with Trevor and
playing mum to three children. What will happen though when Mercy gets too
close and finds herself falling in love with Trevor? Will she open herself up
or will this be another Halstead sister running away as they are better off
being lone wolves and sacrificial lambs than living in the real world and
facing life's problems head-on? I did get a bit frustrated with the sisters as
they put on this big show of "I'm the boss" but deep down they are cowards
and unable to let anyone in. It's like picking a freaking side and path and
staying on it. Overall, though if you love kick-arse female stories, then the
Wilder Sisters series is for you.
