Review: Forgive Me - Ashley Beale
Review: Forgive Me - Ashley Beale - March 2014
Now and again, I get the urge to clean
off some of my older books that have been sitting on my kindle for years, and
often they are either DNFs and misses or they turn out to be diamonds in the
rough. Forgive Me by Ashley Beale was one of those good reads and it reminded
me of My Forever Girl by Heidi McLaughlin as it had a similar feel to it and it
also felt like the earlier New Adult Romances which I loved. This book starts
Ten years prior and we meet 14-year-old Lexi who is in love with her boyfriend
Zander. All is going well until Lexi's mum discovers she is pregnant and in the
middle of the night - she is shipped off to her grandmother's house. Ten years
pass and no one has heard from or seen Lexi until now, Lexi's mother is dying
and so Lexi now twenty-four has returned home. She is not alone though as she
has brought her nine-year-old son with her. Everyone is surprised as turns out
Lexi's mother never told anyone what had happened and no one in Lexi's family
knew she had a child. Though the timing couldn't be worse as turns out Zander
is getting married this week to Lexi's sister-in-law's best friend. What will
happen when Lexi's son wants to know his dad and Lexi introduces him to Zander
and all those emotions come flooding back? Is a second chance romance a reality
or will Zander say Yes to his bride-to-be? Find out in this sweet small-town
romance "Forgive Me" by Ashley Beale.
