Review: Detective Cross - James Patterson
Review: Detective Cross - Book #24.5 Alex Cross Series - James Patterson - May 2017
Carrying on from the Bookshots Cross
Kill is Detective Cross, in this book, we read that Alex Cross is currently on
a 5-week suspension due to the upcoming trial of the murders of the "other
Garys". They are trying to say that it was premeditated murder which of
course it wasn't, he was set up. In Detective Cross, we read that Alex is
taking a seat back from Crime and putting his Doctor's work to use by seeing a
few patients in his home. Former and current law enforcement that have been
sent to him for psych evaluations. One of them is a former military agent, Kate,
who will help Detective Cross to solve a crime of who is bombing the city as
they are using IEDs and old C4 which indicates former military. In this book,
we also see more of Bree Stone aka Mrs. Cross as she is the one receiving the
phone calls just before the bombs go off and communicating throughout the book
with the bomber. What is the bomber's final plan and what does he hope to
achieve? I enjoyed this quick read and it also gave into a stronger perspective
on the treatment of veterans once they have returned from the war, I remember
when I was in the US in 2013 and walking to a Starbucks at Christmas time and saw
a young Vet who would have been early 20s in his uniform with his dog living
out of a cardboard box and my heart broke as these soldiers do their service
and get PTSD and find it hard to readjust to reality and they are unable to get
help. It's just not right at all and it does break my heart so much the treatment
as it's not enough. Detective Cross was not only another good installment in
the Alex Cross Series but one that will open your eyes to other issues that
occur in everyday life.
