Review: Be The Girl - K.A Tucker

Review: Be The Girl - K. A Tucker - January 2019

At her old school, Aria was bullied by her friends and caused damage that lasted forever, during this time her family also fell apart when her Dad had an affair with his secretary. Needing a fresh start, Aria and her mum move away to her Uncle Merv's house in Eastmont. This includes changing her surname to her mum's maiden name and starting a new school. Here Aria can reinvent herself and make some new friends including the Hartford family next door which includes Cassie who has Autism and Emmett. These three become fast friends as Aria finds herself settling into a routine she loves Cassie's friendship as she is like the little sister she never had and Emmett is a hottie. The downside though is that Emmett has a girlfriend named Holly. Holly is exactly the type of person Aria used to be at her old school and what happens when Aria stands up to Holly and it backfires as Holly is not going to take losing her status of Emmett's girlfriend lying down? This includes digging up Aria's past and showing Emmett just how evil Aria can be as if there are a couple of things Emmett can't stand it's bullies and liars. Can Aria prove to the Hartford’s and her own family that she has turned a new leaf and being Aria Jones has made her want to be a better person and Be The Girl who can do good and treat others with kindness?  Find out in this great YA/NA crossover high school read by K.A Tucker that reminded me of the good old days of great books before the world became saturated with erotica and mediocre self-published books. PS - not all self-published books are mediocre, there are some diamonds in the mix.
