Review: The Last to Vanish - Megan Miranda

Review: The Last to Vanish - Megan Miranda - July 2022

You know how some mystery authors are either hits/misses, that is how I feel about Megan Miranda. Sometimes her books can be a hit out of the park or a missed shot and end up being put on the DNF Pile. The Last to Vanish was one of those hits as it featured a theme I do love as well which is a series of missing people over two decades and a small town where everyone is close-knit. The first people to disappear from Cutters Pass was about twenty years ago - a group of four friends known as The Fraternity Four. They went out and never came back, their bodies were never found. Then it was Farrah, Alice, and now Landon West. Abby doesn't know what happened to them, but now that Landon's brother has arrived in town - she is curious to help him find out even an inkling of what happened to his brother. As Abby does this she learns that Landon was writing a story about all the missing people before he disappeared. Over the book, Abby will look deeper and then learn clues about the missing people but will she like what she learns as it will start to make her suspect people she has gotten close with over the past ten years including Celeste whom she looks up to like a mother? I did love the ending twist with Abby and how she was connected to The Fraternity Four. If you love books about missing people and how everything connects in a small town, then check out The Last to Vanish by Megan Miranda.  An amazing thriller to kick off 2024 with.
